I spend a lot of time with people who are in love. It is so interesting to see how each couple interacts with each other. Each relationship is so different. Everyone showcases their love in their own ways. The family dynamics are always new and unique as well. Christiane and John are two people who are genuinely and wholeheartedly in love. They are sweet and gentle with each other. They have special looks, and soft touches. They are close to their families, and it was such a pleasure to witness those relationships. This was a day that they had planned and look forward to for a while. I am so happy that we were able to execute their vision and allow them the wedding they dreamed of.
Their wedding took place in Richmond, Virginia and it was a very Richmond Wedding. They decided to have their first look at the Carrilon in Byrd Park. From there they came back to their church, Redemption Hill. After the ceremony they ran over to the Capitol for some great photos. While they were getting their photos taken, their guests headed over to The Valentine Museum and enjoyed cocktail hour in the garden and explored the Whittemore House. When it was time, we invited the guests to come inside of The Valentine for dinner and dancing.
Some of the fun details of this wedding were all of the personal touches. The bride custom made the ribbon wands and her ribbon backdrop. They exchanged notes before ceremony and the color blue on the card was the perfect shade to match the other details. The bride had a monogram sewed into her dress. Her bolero was custom made, and it was the perfect finishing touch to her gown. They also served gelato from Gelati Celesti. It was such a huge hit with the guests. The couple made their exit and took off to Quirk Hotel. I love how they incorporated so many fun Richmond things in their special day.
