Built in 1733 The 2-story colonial plantation house thrives in historical grandeur with its flourishing gardens and extensive grounds. It is the perfect setting for the traditional wedding experience.
Tuckahoe Plantation is located just 20 minutes from downtown Richmond, Virginia. It was the boyhood home of Thomas Jefferson and is a National Historic Landmark. It is protected by a preservation easement that was donated by the owners. This venue will forever be preserved by the plantation’s National Historic Landmark title.
This venue is a local favorite and is very popular with the surrounding Universities. With it’s ties to historic Richmond, and Thomas Jefferson, this is a favorite with the alumni of The University of Richmond and the University of Virginia.
Tuckahoe Plantation is an exclusively outdoor venue. So just be aware of the seasons and have some back up weather plans. It will hold up to 500 guests, so you won’t need to worry about anyone feeling cramped.
The rental rate for Tuckahoe Plantation includes the ceremony site, which is amazing, three reception sites, parking, electricity and running water, restrooms for up to 100 guests, ground lighting, and exclusive use of the property. The exclusive use of the property is a big one. You will have the entire day to set up your event. Your vendor team will be able to set up the tent, dance floor, tables, chairs, lighting, etc. and it will all be done perfectly before your guests arrive.
If you are in love with the grounds and gardens at Tuckahoe Plantation, but are hosting your wedding at another location, you can still use this venue for all of your other festivities. This venue is great for engagement parties, wedding showers, bridesmaids luncheons, baby showers, and rehearsal dinners. They also host several smaller events throughout the year that are open to the public. These events would be a great opportunity to check out if you are venue shopping.
