Julie and Dave were a referral from another planner.  (I love those.)  They had moved their date up an entire year and their current planner was no longer available. With their new date we had about three months to plan their wedding.  Julie and I got right to work and started putting together all of the pieces.  It helps that she was such a great planner and was great at logisitcs.  She knew exactly what she wanted, and exactly what was important to them as a couple.  We were able to interview and book the vendor team in record time.

The wedding was at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.  This is such a pretty venue and the guests always enjoy walking through the gardens during cocktail hour.  This couple wanted to share their love with their closest friends and family, and then have an amazing party.

The amount of personal details in the wedding was so great.  They really showcased what was important to them.  The bride asked all of her friends and family to send her brooches.  As they started arriving she started putting them together.  She made her own brooch bouquet!  It was such a special touch, having each brooch mean something to her and the people who were at the wedding. Not only did Julie make her own bouquet but she hand painted a picture of her dog so she could be part of the festivities as well. Her grandmother is a very special person in her life so naturally she was the “flower gal.”  Her grandmother also handmade a cute bride and groom for the sweetheart table.  Julie and Dave have Italian roots and it was important to them to have Italian cookies.  I had a bride last year whose uncle is an Italian baker.  I made a few calls, and we had Italian cookies.  Buffa Bakery even made the grooms family recipe blueberry tarts as a surprise to the groom.

The most unique part of the wedding might have been the Ghostbuster cameo.  Dave didn’t want to do a first look.  He wanted to save the moment for the altar.  Julie on the hand really wanted one.  So she came up with a hilarious way to make them both happy.  She wore the Stay Puft costume from Ghostbusters.  The DJ played the Ghostbusters song and they had a really funny first look.  This wedding was a ton of fun, and was a great reflection of the couple.
