The DAR, or The Daughters of the American Revolution, is one of our favorite wedding and event venues in Washington, D.C. The venue is close to famous DC landmarks and is also in close proximity to amazing hotels. Waldorf Astoria, Hay Adams, and Willard InterContinental are less than a mile away for any guests who may be traveling in.
The Venue
The DAR Portico and Terrace are fantastic places to host a wedding ceremony. On the terrace, you have the Washington Monument as your backdrop, and under the Portico, you are protected from harsh light or light rain. You also have the option to have your ceremony in the O’Byrne Gallery, which is beautiful, or The Pennsylvania Foyer.
With its classical revival style of the beaux-arts and classical detailing, this venue is aesthetically diverse. Every room in the building has a picturesque opportunity for photos.
