Charlottesville, Virginia Wedding Venue with Beautiful Mountain Views
Located just out of Orange County Virginia, near Charlottesville, is The Market at Grelen. This event venue is a perfect blend of a garden party and modern luxury. There are so many options here and there are so many different ways to style the space. It is the perfect location for destination, micro-weddings, and elopements, as well as full-size events.
The main event space is a large white or clear top tent, depending on the time of year, with 360-degree views of the nursery, the rolling hills, and the blue ridge mountains. The event space comes ready with very pretty garden-style chairs, round tables, rectangle tables, a barrel bar, and chandeliers. You have the option to bring in any of the trees or plants from the nursery to be displayed in the tent.
The ceremony can take place in several locations. There is a greenhouse on-site that makes for a very unique setting, several options for garden spaces, a terrace, and an overlook with the mountains in the background. Around the property are the most adorable potting sheds, barns, and huts that can be used for a variety of features to enhance your guest experience.
The Orchard Overlook Tent accommodates 250 seated guests, the Greenhouse accommodates 50 seated guests, the Stone Terrace accommodates 100 seated guests, and the Shade Garden accommodates 40 seated guests.
As a planner, I love working out at The Market at Grelen. The amount of options that we have available for guest experiences, special features, and creative executions is unlimited. The staff is always great to work with and is very accommodating. Guests can drive-in, it’s only about 30 minutes from Charlottesville, Virginia. It is advised to shuttle your guest in though to ensure a smooth arrival and departure for your wedding. The roads are a bit rural and guests may have a difficult time maneuvering them.
If you prefer to stay on-site, The Boxwood Villa is a great option. They have onsite accommodations and event spaces for smaller events up to 150 guest counts. The Boxwood Villa is named for its large boxwood circling the house. The house sleeps 10 with five bedrooms including the bridal suite. You can use this space to host a rehearsal dinner or a brunch the next day.
