If you are on the search for a rustic barn wedding, The Barns of Kanak should definitely be on your list. The 13-acre property offers both outdoor and indoor facilities that can accommodate up to 200 guests.   There is a bridal suite, a grooms suite, a pool, and several locations for ceremony on site.

When you first pull into the property you notice that you are surrounded by farm land.  This makes for gorgeous sunset photos and portraits. There is ample parking for your guests and shuttles should you opt to provide transportation.

While your guests are coming in, the bride will be getting ready in the farmhouse style bridal suite.  The farmhouse includes a full kitchen, great for brunch that morning. A dining room, two sitting rooms, a hair and make up room with lots of mirrors and natural light, two bedrooms for throwing your bags and changing into your dresses, and three baths. This space is perfect for a getting ready atmosphere with your wedding party.

Should the Groom opt to use the Groom’s Cottage, he too will have several options for his group of friends. The Groom’s Cottage includes a refrigerator, dining table, sitting room, 1/2 bath, poker, and darts.  They don’t currently have wifi or cable in the Grooms Cottage, however it is something they are working on.

For ceremony you have an outdoor option and an indoor option.  If the weather is great and you have decided to be outside there are is the red barn.  This is a picturesque barn with a paved walkway.  The paved walkway is a huge selling point for an outdoor ceremony.  If the ground is wet, if you are wearing heels, if you have a long dress or train, it will all be protected by the paved aisle.

Should the weather take a turn for the worst, there is the metal barn.  This barn is draped in white draping and has a chandelier.  The back barn doors open to the fields which makes for a really pretty backdrop, even in bad weather.   This barn can be used for cocktail hour or ceremony.

Once you have said your I Do’s guests can make their way to the metal barn or over to the main barn for cocktail hour.   The main barn has a porch where guests can mingle.  They can also wander the property and take photos by the silos.

After cocktail hour guests will then go to the reception barn.  This is a large refurbished barn complete with climate control, level flooring, exposed wooden beams, chandeliers, and bathrooms.  You will not need to rent in a bathroom trailer here which is a considerable savings.

The property is family owned and run by the McCormicks.  They not only manage the property but also offer month of coordination.  If you are not in the market for a full service wedding planner, this would be a good option.  They seem very sweet and easy to work with.
