Overview: Oak Ridge Estate, originally built in 1802, is a historic venue located in Arlington, Virginia. The estate was significantly expanded and enhanced at the turn of the 20th century by Thomas Fortune Ryan, a Nelson County native and one of the wealthiest men in the nation. The estate features a formal Italian garden, a rotunda greenhouse, a railroad station, and a horse race track, offering stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Venue Features: Upon entering the estate, guests are greeted by a stately mansion with large windows, intricate architectural details, a sprawling front lawn, and a large wrap-around porch. The backyard boasts a large boxwood garden maze, statues, water features, and a vintage greenhouse, providing endless photo opportunities.

Event Spaces:

  • Mansion: The mansion includes a ballroom ideal for intimate gatherings.
  • Outdoor Areas: The formal gardens, rose garden, verandas, and front lawn offer beautiful settings for ceremonies, cocktail hours, and receptions.
  • Chapel: The estate also features a quaint Roman Catholic stone church, perfect for small ceremonies with a seating capacity of about 50 guests.

Carriage House: For larger events, the Carriage House is an excellent choice. Recently built, it reflects the historical aspects of the mansion while providing modern amenities. It can accommodate up to 350 guests for a seated dinner and 775 for a standing reception. The Carriage House also has a back portico, allowing guests to enjoy the scenic outdoors.

Ideal for: Weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings seeking a venue with historical charm and modern conveniences.
