We ask our clients and our vendors a TON of questions during the planning process. I figured it was about time we started answering some of them ourselves.
We are sharing a fun Q & A, and some photos taken by Erika Lynn Photography

What’s on your bucket list? I love to travel. I have been to several countries, but I have never been to an Asia, Africa, or the Middle East. I have always wanted to spend some time in Morocco. One of the trips on our list is Madrid, Lisbon, and Morocco. I would love to spend some time some time at the Souk, ride a camel, and explore everything the country has to offer.
What would you most like to learn and why? I would like to learn how to settle. I have no chill. I have tried yoga, and halfway through the class, I am thinking of all of the things I need to be doing. I would like to get better at being in the moment and working on the slow down.
How do you spend your free time? I have three kids, two boys and a girl, so I spend my free time with them and my husband. If I am not with my family, I enjoy going to shows and events (all kinds), watching movies, shopping, traveling, decorating our home, and going to flea markets. I have been best friends with the same group of ladies since we were in middle school. They live all over the country now, but we get together whenever we can. We will take girls trips, brunch, go to museums, or chat on our never ending group text. I am also an avid reader. Most of my books are on audio now as I can listen to them while I’m out driving to and from events.
What is your perfect vacation? Anywhere we can explore. I love discovering new cultures, new experiences, and the history of an area. I am not one to lay on a beach for a week.
What’s your favorite season? Why? 100% Fall. I love fall fashion. The rich textures, the styles, the boots. I prefer to be cold over hot, and the fall is chilly but not freezing. I also like the spirit of the season. People are out enjoying the weather, businesses are getting ready for the holiday season, and the tv and movie schedules are airing their best shows.
Do you have pets? If so what kind and their name? We have a dog. Her name is Piper. She is a rescue so we aren’t 100% sure what she is. They told us she was an Australian Sheppard. I’m not so sure. She may be more Chow. Australian Sheppards are usually very bright, and well, Piper is very sweet.
What is your favorite holiday? Valentines day. I know, it’s super cliche that a wedding/event planner loves Valentines day. I love celebrating friends and those people you love. It’s also a holiday full of bright colors, pink, and girlie things.
What is your favorite part of the planning process? I love transforming an empty space into someone’s wedding. It doesn’t matter how many weddings I have planned, or how many spaces I have transformed, it’s always magical. I am creating atmospheres and experiences that are permanent memories in people’s lives. It’s a huge responsibility, but it’s what keeps me going. I love those final moments when months of hard work and planning come together and everything looks amazing and is running smoothly. When you look over and see your couple enjoying themselves and their guests having a great time. It’s those moments that are my favorite part.
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple? Stay true to yourself and your partner. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the wedding world. There are so many traditions, expectations, Pinterest and Instagram ideas, magazines, etc. This is your day to celebrate however fits you best. If tradition is what your heart desires great, if not, that is ok too.
