Day One: A Warm Welcome
Upon arrival, we were greeted with branded coconut drinks and received our event name tags and welcome bags. That evening we kicked off the conference with a vibrant rooftop reception. The dress code for the welcome party was sunset colors—pinks, oranges, and purples. This really set the tone for a nice evening of mingling and connection. There was a live painter who was painting everyone’s portraits, Nemacolin was there with really great signature cocktails, and there was a seafood dinner. Everyone was excited to be there, but was tired from traveling, and the night wound down nicely.
Day Two: Learning and Team Building at Estancia La Jolla
The next day, we were shuttled to Estancia La Jolla, another beautiful event venue, where we participated in a full day of activities, including insightful presentations and a fabulous lunch on the Olive Lawn. There was a large salad bar set up, and a chef attended protein station. A tequila and chocolate pairing session highlighted the afternoon. The real fun came during a team-building activity that challenged us to make guacamole and margaritas. This hands-on competition fostered collaboration and creativity while adding a delicious twist to the day. The evening closed with a locally sourced “sunset supper,” followed by moonlight cocktails at Monarch Ocean Pub.
Day Three: Yoga, Surfing, and an Under the Sea Gala
Some attendees started the day with rooftop sunrise yoga. Attendees later enjoyed an educational session with Sam Jacobson, followed by a choice of poolside lunch or surf lessons. The Pacific Ocean is a bit too chilly for me, so I spent my time at the pool. I did walk down to the beach to watch though. That evening, we attended an enchanting.under-the-sea-themed gala. After professional hair, makeup, and headshots, guests were invited to change into their blues, greens, and ocean colors for a night of celebration in a setting of underwater decor.
Final Day: A Bucket List Adventure
On the final day, we checked off a bucket list experience with a sunrise hot air balloon ride. Floating over the scenic landscape was a breathtaking and unforgettable conclusion to the event, making it a perfect team-building experience.
This event was designed to foster strong connections between destination wedding planners and global venues, creating opportunities to exchange information and build lasting partnerships.
