Virginia House: A Perfect Blend of History and Romance

Venue Overview

Virginia House, originally an English manor, was  reconstructed in Richmond, Virginia, in the 1920s. This venue blends historical elegance with a romantic atmosphere, making it a sought-after location for weddings. The house’s Tudor-style architecture, complete with stone walls and intricate woodwork, provides a timeless backdrop. The lush gardens surrounding the property enhance its charm, offering a serene and picturesque setting.

Ceremony and Reception Spaces

The Terraces and Garden: For those dreaming of a garden wedding, the terraces and gardens at Virginia House are perfect. The manicured gardens, lush greenery, and historic architecture create a beautiful backdrop. The terraces can be tented, allowing for a versatile setup that can be customized to match your wedding theme and vision.

The Library and Drawing Room: If you prefer a more intimate indoor ceremony, the Library and Drawing Room offer a warm and moody ambiance. These rooms, adorned with rich woodwork and antique furnishings, are perfect for smaller gatherings. The elegant decor and historical charm create a welcoming atmosphere for your guests.

The Courtyard: The Courtyard, with its surrounding historic walls and central fountain, offers a charming and private space for your ceremony. This area combines the beauty of the outdoors with the intimacy of an enclosed space, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a unique and picturesque ceremony.

The Great Hall: For indoor ceremonies, the Great Hall at Virginia House is an option. With its high ceilings and classic decor, the Great Hall showcases historical elegance. It is also a perfect rain plan option, ensuring your wedding day goes smoothly regardless of the weather.

Capacity and Amenities

Virginia House can accommodate a range of wedding sizes, from intimate gatherings to larger celebrations. The venue offers a variety of off list catering options to suit your preferences, ensuring that your guests enjoy a memorable dining experience.  Due to the venue being in a neighborhood. The end time is quite early.  If you prefer to party until the sun comes up, I suggest hosting your ceremony and cocktail hour at Virginia House and shuttling your guests to a near by venue where they can continue their evening with a reception and after party.

As always, I’d love to chat.
