I love when couples showcase the city they love, bring in personal elements and surprises into their weddings.
This couple did all of those things. Christine and Powell are such a cute couple and come from such supportive and loving families. The ladies got ready at The Linden Row Inn which is one of Richmond’s historical hotels. You can read more about the Inn here. Powell and his groomsmen spent their time at the John Marshall Ballrooms. I still think that the John Marshall has one of the best groom suites in the city. You can read more about the John Marshall here.
When it was time to head over to the church, the Richmond Trolly made it’s rounds picking up the wedding party and delivering them to St. Peter’s Catholic Church. This church is gorgeous. There are so many intricate details, and that ceiling!!
The couple opted for a full Catholic Mass. The traditional aspects with this wedding were such a great reminder of all of the ways people celebrate their love. Once they were pronounced husband and wife, the wedding party jumped back on the trolly and headed over to the Capitol Building for some fun shots. The guests went on to The John Marshall for cocktail hour.
The couple and their guests had such a great time at the reception. The John Marshall is a great venue if you are wanting a band. They have a room for the band members, lighting, and stage. This couple and their guests were big dancers and having great music and lots of dancing was very important to them. The groom and his dad even got on stage and played a song much to the surprise and delight of their guests.
We finished the night with a last dance and a sparkler exit. It was such a pleasure working with this couple and their families. These are the types of people that keep you going, wedding after wedding.
