I have to start out and say that this is not an actual wedding venue. You won’t be able to host a party or a wedding here. However, they do accommodate non-profit organizations. I toured this venue because people are always asking where they can get their engagement pictures done, their bridal portraits, where they can propose, etc. Well folks here it is.
Agecroft Hall was originally in Lancashire, England. It was home of the English Langley and Dauntesey families. In the mid 1920’s a wealthy businessman, T.C. Williams Jr., moved the home all the way to Richmond, Virginia. The reconstruction of the home took nearly two years. There were several floor plan changes and modern day amenities added. Unfortunately, the year after it was completed Mr. Williams past away. It was his wish that the home be kept open as a museum and gardens for people to enjoy.
From the stone courtyards, to the balcony, and through the gardens you won’t be limited to places to take a great photo. If the English Shakespearean culture is something that is meaningful to you or your finance this is definitely a place to consider. The facility is reminiscent of the times and the sprawling lawn and gardens are very pretty.
Agecroft Hall is home of the Richmond Shakespeare Festival that takes place each summer. You can learn more about the venue and the Shakespeare Festival here.
