We have our official bios, but here are some fun facts about our team and some photos taken by Erika Lynn Photography.
Judith is a lead planner at Swoon Soiree. She joined Swoon in 2017 when she moved to Richmond VA. Judith came from the DC market and was a planner with another company. If you can plan a wedding in DC you can pretty much plan one anywhere. Judith is such a pleasure to be around and has such a calming demeanor. She keeps a clear head and moves seamlessly through fast-paced events. She is also crazy talented with crafts and calligraphy. I have loved having her on our team, and our clients love accessing her creative abilities.
What is one thing on your bucket list? One thing on my bucket list is to travel more. We have close family on the other side of the world and we would love to make a trip over there!
What would you most like to learn and why? I would love to learn to garden properly. My husband and I made a small garden this year and loved growing our own veggies, but we quickly realized we didn’t know much. I would really like to learn the science behind gardening and be able to grow more fruits and veggies!
How do you spend your free time? When I’m not busy with weddings, I love to craft! Whether it’s making tumblers or basic woodworking, I am always looking for new skills to learn.
What is your perfect vacation? My ideal vacation would be someplace warm with 50% of the time relaxing in the sun and 50% of the time doing something active. But as long as there is good company, we could be doing anything.
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple? My advice for a newly engaged couple is to enjoy your engagement. It goes by so fast! When I was planning my own wedding, I kept talking about thinking about the future and the “next step” that I forgot to enjoy the “now”. Engagement is a short, sweet time that needs to be celebrated too!
What is one of the most interesting things about you? One of the most interesting things about me is that I like to learn. I taught myself how to do calligraphy and basic woodworking skills. I like to watch and ask questions when there is work being done on the house, so I have a better understanding.
What is your favorite season? Why? My favorite season is fall. I like to be able to layer and add fun textures to clothing and our house. I like the crispness in the air and it makes a great excuse for cozy evenings at home.
Do you have pets? If so what kind and their names? I have three! Two cats, Charlie, and Goose (named after Top Gun characters) and a dog, Addy (named after a cross street that my husband’s favorite baseball team’s stadium is on)
What is your favorite holiday? Why? My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I love getting together with our families and just spending time and catching up with each other. I also love to cook, so that’s a bonus!
What is your favorite part of the planning process? One of my favorite parts of the planning process is the end! And not because it’s over, but because I love seeing how all the ideas and planning come together to create a beautiful, meaningful time for each couple.
