Well the venue tour continues, and this week I am covering Celebrations on the Reservoir. This venue has five different sites to get married at. They all have their unique features and can be used for several different events. They also have several options for your reception.
The Manor House is the most traditional site, and the easiest to navigate a wedding. There is a ceremony site down on the water, a patio with seating for cocktail hour, a sunroom off of the main house for the buffet, and a tent for the reception. This tent is a permanent feature with the venue so it is done very well. The floor underneath it is paved, the walls can be bought down for in-climate weather and temperature control, and there is lighting. There is also a huge lawn with soft moonlight lighting for an outdoor event. If you need to use the tent it will hold up to 150 guests. If you luck out with gorgeous weather, the lawn can hold up to 300 guests.
My favorite site at Celebrations is the Pool Pavilion. I really wish I had better photos of this venue. Clearly I am lacking in the photography skills. (This is something I plan on working on in the off season.) The Pool Pavilion was built by the owners as a place to entertain. It has a spiral staircase, bold animal decor, a pool with a large fountain and lights, first to second floor ceiling windows, and a large pool deck with grills and bars. As much fun as I think this space is, I don’t foresee a traditional wedding taking place here. This venue is best for a large party, or a non traditional reception. The Pool Pavilion would work really well for a cocktail reception, or food stations with a few tables strategically placed. It could be dressed up a little bit and be perfect for a poolside cocktail party.
The Gardens are another spot to have your reception. This is an outdoor area, right on the water. It’s surrounded by azalea bushes and tall pine trees. The tables and chairs stay with the gardens and there is a small tent on site in the event of in-climate weather. The best part is where your ceremony will take place. Down a small, narrow bridge and out over the water is where you can say your I Do’s. Your guests will sit in-between the trees and watch as you have the reservoir as your backdrop. Of course my first question was if anyone has ever fallen off of that bridge. They assured me they have lost no bride or members of the bridal party. You are also able to arrive or depart by boat. This would make for some really great sunset photos out on the water. This area can hold up to 200 guests.
