Venue Tour: Linden Row Inn

Back to Blog

Linden Row Inn is an historic urban hotel that focuses on the “True Richmond” experience. It has a European style and a great history. It was originally called Linden Square, named after the linden trees that are in the garden.

The Linden Row Inn was originally seven row houses that were built in the mid-1800s.  it has been restored over the years and the guest rooms and parlor suites are furnished with antiques from the 1800’s.  The guest rooms and event spaces open to an intimate garden courtyard.  This courtyard is famous as it was the garden that Edgar Allan Poe played in as a child.  Local legend has it that it was this garden that is referred to as the “enchanted garden” mentioned in Poe’s famous poem “To Helen.”  This is a very popular location for history buffs and Poe fans.  Quite often a couple will host their ceremony at the Poe Museum garden and host their reception in the courtyard of Linden Row Inn.

This venue is perfect for an intimate wedding, a great centralized location for your guests to stay, rehearsal dinners, and a perfect location for the wedding party to get ready.  The larger guest rooms have ample seating and large windows.  There is a walk around balcony that overlooks the courtyard and they have recently put in an Urban Farmhouse.  Having an Urban Farmhouse on site is a great feature for you and your guests.  This location has all of the modern amenities but still maintains the southern historic charm.  Once your event concludes your guests can simply walk to their room.
