The Tuckahoe Woman’s Club is located off of Cary St. in the Near West End/Windsor Farms area. They are an operational social club, however you do not need to be a member, or be sponsored by one, to have an event here. They allow outside vendors, and are focused on making your day everything you would like it to be.
There is a a serene garden where most ceremonies are held. In the garden are various flowering bushes, manicured grassy areas, and a large 100 year old oak tree. The atmosphere leads to a very comfortable, pretty, ceremony.
After ceremony your guests can enjoy cocktail hour on the patio, or come inside to the auditorium. Depending on the layout, this room can hold up to 150 guests for a seated dinner with dancing. There is a large stage which is perfect for your DJ or band. There is also a Steinway Grand Piano that can be rented. Off of the auditorium is a reception room. This room is used for smaller events and or meetings. It is also very nicely decorated and would be perfect for a variety of gatherings.
In addition to the public space, there is a bridal suite. This is a smaller room with great lighting, mirrors, and seating. This will be ideal for the bride who would like to get ready on site.
As a planner I am always looking at venues from a logistical stand point. How will this work with the guests and how will this work with the vendors? I am sure that many caterers and florists are very happy with the way that The Tuckahoe Woman’s Club has their back end set up. There is a very large kitchen that the caterers have full access too. There is also a mudroom area with a large wash sink that is perfect for any last minute floral adjustments or water needs.
